Carl's Jr. With Paris

It's amazing to see just how far companies will go to convince consumers to buy their product.

This advertisement for Carl's Jr. promises a larger sized hamburger than most other fast-food restaurants.  This food ad is appealing to both men and women, however, focuses mainly on men.  Rather than just using the picture of the burger to show the consumer it's larger size, the ad uses the picture, as well as the caption: "She'll tell you size doesn't matter. She's lying."  This caption is intended to be referring to the burger; however, it is used, in a sexual way, to make the reader think that the woman whom is talking about size is actually referring to the man's penis.  By saying that the size of the "penis" does matter to women, the ad is persuading men to want to go bigger.  The advertisement suggests that women will be more attracted to men if they have a larger sized burger like the ones at Carl's Jr.  This ad also suggests that eating the burger is a challenge because of it's size, almost indirectly asking "are you man enough?"  Another attempt in persuading the consumer in a sexual way is the use of Paris Hilton.  The ad uses Paris Hilton's "sex appeal" by dressing her in a very revealing bathing suit eating the burger.  Another way the ad uses Paris Hilton to persuade the consumer is by showing her in a revealing outfit and showing off her "model-like" body, this gives the consumer the idea that if they eat Carl's Jr., they can look like Paris.
